Grand Opening of the Newly Refurbished Children's Playing Field - 10 July 2011 On Sunday 10 July 2011 the Grand Opening of the newly refurbished Playing Field was celebrated.  It was in true Lavendon style, a glorious day to be remembered by all, young and old, who came along and had a good day out.   Debbie Brock opened the event and the winners of the Big Picnic Poster competition at Lavendon School and the Youth Club opened the equipment.  The simultaneous opening was conducted on a signal from our Master of Ceremonies, Mike Griffiths, and all went amazingly well!   There was a Bouncy Castle and Bungee Run, lots of fun with The Great Gappo, a display of Maypole Dancing from children at the school, a bit of exercise for all in a Zumba session and something for the very young with Groovy Movers.                            The British Legion had an exhibition and the WI ran the refreshments in the Pavilion.  Also, in the Pavilion there was a display of the winning posters from the school and artwork from the Pre-School.  Pre-School entertained children in the outside play area.
