(LADRA) LADRA Minutes Archive: Note: Published LADRA Minutes have been amended
for security reasons. Update 18 December 2008 To date 408 letters of objection to
the Romany Gipsy Caravan Site Planning Application
have been received by Milton Keynes Council.
It would appear that the decision whether
to grant or refuse planning permission will
be made by the Milton Keynes Development
Control Committee. The meeting at which this
decision will be made will be held at the
Milton Keynes Council Civic Offices on 15th
January 2009. It is imperative that as many
objectors attend this meeting as is possible.
More information to follow in due course. If the Development Control Committee refuse planning permission, then the applicants can appeal against the decision. Update 13th February 2009 Planning Application Refused. After reconsidering the Romany Gypsy Caravan Site planning application - Lavendon, the Milton Keynes Council, Development Control Committee unanimously refused the planning application. We now await the formal issue of the application refusal and then the appellant has up to six months to lodge an appeal. Update 5th February 2009 Due to errors in the preparation of the original report, the MK Council Development Control Committee have effectively set aside their original decision arrived at on Thursday 15th January. They will now reconsider the Romany Gypsy Caravan Site Planning Application at Lavendon on Thursday 12th February 2009. To view the amended report click HERE Update January 2010 The Annual General Meeting of LADRA was held on Thursday 21 January 2010. The recent application to establish a Gypsy Traveller Site opposite the cemetary was also discussed at the public meeting. The Olney Ward Councillors, Debbie Brock and Peter Geary, were in attendance at the meeting. It was explained that the Gypsy Site application was very similar to a site application that was refused by MK Council early last year. The grounds for refusal of that application are set out in the self-explanatory note produced by the Councillors, see here.
